New in the editor: upload videos or embed them from YouTube and Vimeo
Revivra team ·
A short film from the workshop or a tour of the practice often shows more than any text. You can now add videos directly in the Revivra editor, replace them, or adjust how they play.
Three ways to add a video
- You upload MP4 or WebM files up to 100 MB. A progress indicator shows the status, and you can cancel the upload at any time.
- For YouTube or Vimeo, you simply paste the link.
- The library contains all videos in your project, including those Revivra found on your previous website.
For each video you set a thumbnail and decide on autoplay (always muted), looping, sound and whether the controls are shown. You find the settings in the section form, or you click the video directly in the editor.
Embedded in a privacy-friendly way
Embedded YouTube and Vimeo videos only load when someone clicks “Play”. Until then, your website shows only a thumbnail that Revivra provides itself. Your visitors therefore have no contact with YouTube or Vimeo until they deliberately choose to watch the video. When playing, Revivra uses the data-saving variants of the players: youtube-nocookie.com for YouTube and the “Do Not Track” mode for Vimeo.
Works on iPhone and iPad too
Self-hosted videos now also play and seek reliably in Safari on iPhone and iPad.
Existing websites stay unchanged
The update changes nothing on websites that are already published. Videos that are embedded today keep working as before. You can now replace them in the editor at any time.
